HI was walking through the city last Friday, and I thought I recognized someone. Got me thinking. how come the older i get, the more people's faces begin to look the same, and the more mine looks unfamiliar?
Also. This is entertaining:

Also. I put some of the tunes up that Haymarket did for the last album we recorded and worked on all last winter. Though the band doesn't exist anymore, I'm glad the tunes are finally getting done. Check 'em out here:

location: Pullman
mood:
contemplative
music: "Such Great Heights," The Postal Service
Jake came over this afternoon to finish a few licks on one of the songs. We sat and watched the data transfer from my laptop's hard drive to the portable, back-up hard drive for what must have been a half-hour.
Then, we took apart my living room. Neatly splitting up both Jake's and my recording equipment, we loaded up his portion into the back of his truck. Light snow began to fall, and the yellow street lamps in Pullman created the most eerie, but relaxing shadows on the pavement. The latent sounds of the evening seemed swallowed up by the brick row-houses.
The album is being processed/mixed by one of the guys who engineered "The Dark Side of the Spoon," by Ministry. I guess Jake knows him. We hope to have a completed record by Christmas, though I hesitate to guarentee a product, as we have yet to figure out how we're going to package the record.
If you'd like a copy, message me. They'll probably run about 5 bucks just to cover packaging costs. We're gonna throw a friggin huge album release party. You should come.

Capoeira is the fighting form that Eddie Gordo uses in the Tekken video games. It's attack lines are based in circular, deceptive motions, where martial arts like Tae Kwon Do or Karate are based in linear motions designed for energy preservation.
The art was designed to be deceptive, as it was created by Brazillian slaves in front of their masters. They would practice what the slave owners thought was dancing, but in fact was fighting.
The environment is waaaay intimidating, but friendly and encouraging at the same time. It reminds me just how out of shape I am. I kinda like it.

There so many stories to consider, so many people with stories to tell. The amount of life in such an isolated location is staggering.
I was flipping through channels on T.V. and I found a Chuck Norris movie. I stopped only because I recognized that he was supposed to be a Chicago cop. It's amazing how long lower Wacker drive is in the movies. You'd think friggin Moleman lived down there.
The one thing in particular struck me about the movie, though, was how low the skyline looked. The height of the structures in this late 70's, early 80's movie blew my mind. I guess I didn't get downtown enough as a kid to notice the ridiculous amounts of construction going on.
And now that I'm passing through the loop at least two or three times a month now, I the change in the scale of the city seems that much more staggering. Check out the Spire, which is supposed to be done in 2010.

Change is the only constant, I guess. So many stories. How many more windows are we going to see go up?

Reviling the perpetuity of contemplation of enlightenment, I inquire not in the one true Way, but rather a way conducted with unpretentious management and equally modest aspirations, only to inundate my perception with further indiscretions in metacognition. Sometimes I wish I could talk this smrt.
